Today I am excited to get to cairns. Will be out of the outback after a while. Passed by Undara National park and lava tubes. Couldn’t stopped as had appointment for service of Masti. Great inland way joins the A1. The vegetation changed to much more more trees and hills. Saw some spider webs on a lot of trees. I mean this went on for kms. Stopped for fuel at Mt Garnet. Then when on to Ravenshoe, Queensland’s highest town. Now everything changed. Feels like Victorian high country. A lot of twisties and fun ride. Not seen a road like this in my life. Best ride. Reached Atherton. Stopped at Maccas for coffee and snack. Mango, sugarcanes and banana on sides, even coffee plantation! Much more twisties all the way upto edge of cairns. Reached Wayne Leonard for service. Very helpful team. Settles at hotel. Tomorrow is rest day so looking forward to it.
