Day Thirty Nine Of Grand Australian Ride From Mackay To Rockhampton
Start: Mackay, Queensland Finish: Rockhampton, Queensland
Date: 7th June 2022 Distance: 338 kms Weather: Warm, Dry Time Taken: 6 Hours 30 Minutes Terrain: Sugar Farms Road: Straight Farms
Started at around 7am in the morning. Firstly stopped in town for fuelling up. All sugar plantations along the way on both the sides. A few sugar mills as well. Apparently, every town has a sugar mill. A lot of roadworks along the way. Had coffee at Livery fuel station at Carmila. Made a stop at Clearview to fly the drone. Certainly a nice place to camp out but can’t swim as too many crocs. Stopped at Marlborough for fuel. Saw a royal flying doctor promotion vehicle. A old couple was taking it around maybe for fund raising. Kudos to them for the effort. Arrived at Rockhampton or Rockie as they call it. Reached early so had lunch at Hungry Jack and got some work done and finished the day at a Chinese joint close by. Finally feeling a little chilly today. Had to take out my warm jacket (not riding one) since Perth.
