Day Fourty Six Of Grand Australian Ride From Canberra To Orbost
Start: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory Finish: Orbost, Victoria
Date: 14th June 2022 Distance: 528 kms Weather: Freezing, Fog Time Taken: 10 Hours 55 Minutes Terrain: Hilly Road: Twisties
Started the day with a bit of chilly weather. Nikool (my brother) is joining me from today until end of the tour. First stop was at Australian Federal Parliament. We reached and stopped the bike on the pavement. In no time police was there. Nikool’s clutch was loose so we had a reason to fix it in front of the parliament. 😜 the police was staring at us while we fixed it and took some photos. We started on our way to Batemans Bay. There was a lot of fog along the way. We stopped at Provisions Deli at Braidwood for a brekkie. It had a fire which certainly helps us warm up as we were freezing. From here on all the way to Batemans Bay was a twisty downhill road until we reached the shores. Loved it as it also got warmer. Made another stop at Bodalla Dairy Shed for ice cream. Worth shopping. Ride past bega. If we had more time then I would have stopped at the cheese museum. Finally entered Victoria after so many days. So close to home. Arrived at Orbost for the night. Rest of the family was already there. Got Chinese takeaway and called it night. Now just one day to reach Melbourne. 🤟🏽
