Day Fourty Eight Of Grand Australian Ride From Devonport To Hobart
Start: Devonport, Tasmania Finish: Hobart, Tasmania
Date: 16th June 2022 Distance: 277 kms Weather: Cold, Fog Time Taken: 7 Hours 0 Minutes Terrain: Hilly Road: Twisties
After a well rested night the ferry docked at Devonport around 6am. We finally were allowed out around 7am. We decided to straight away get riding and stop on the way. As soon as we got out of Devonport the fog on the highway was just way too much so we decided to stop at Westbury. The home of the giant cricket stumps. We waited a while and as things settled down we got started. Made a quick stop at Campbell Town. This is half way point to Hobart. Next stop was Oatlands where we stopped to check out the windmills. Stopped for lunch at Mood food at Kempton. I nearly ran out of fuel. Didn’t realise that there aren’t many fuel stations on this part of the route. Now we were not far from Hobart. Reached at around 2 pm. Got refreshed and also did some maintenance on the bikes. Went to the town centre to celebrate the completion of stage two i.e. loop of Australia, all states and capital and complete A1 / HIGHWAY 1. Now looking forward to getting back home and completing the full challenge.
