Day Fourty Nine Of Grand Australian Ride From Hobart To Devonport

Start: Hobart, Tasmania      Finish: Devonport, Tasmania

Date: 17th June 2022      Distance: 276 kms     Weather: Cold, Fog      Time Taken: 9 Hours 30 Minutes      Terrain: Hilly     Road: Twisties

Started the day refreshed. Excited as I was heading home. Last real ride. Sad as it was all coming to a completion. Also a little worried about fog. Had to start early as projection of rain by noon. First stop was Kempton. We had lunch there the previous day. Had a veggie roll, smoothie and coffee. Captured some of the beautiful (sillioutte) that you see all over this route. Saw black ice along the way. Had to be careful riding. The fog started thickening. Visibility was reducing but could still ride. Passed by Ross Female Factory. Wasn’t sure to go there or not, decided not to. Stopped at Campbeltown for coffee. Passed by St Andrew’s Inn, it was closed so couldn’t check it out. Got off track to check out Brickendon Farm. Saw Turkeys 🦃 crossing the road. Reached Brickendon. Got tickets and explored the place for around 30 mins. Left for Longford which in practically next door. Had lunch at JJ’s. Fuelled up, this is the last one in this trip. Got back on A1. Stopped at Anvers Chocolate Factory for coffee. Check out the place. Left for Devonport. Pick up some supplies from IGA near the port. Meet other bikers as well this time. Checked and parked up. Celebrated the completion of the tour. Slept with a lot of excitement for meeting everyone the day after.
